The office of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill has long studied issues of density, asking questions about how we might — and if we should — build at various scales, including the carbon impact of these choices. Those explorations resulted in a research project and book, Residensity : A Carbon Analysis of Residential Typologies (Oro Editions, 2022), and the firm has continued to address these questions.
