Architecture 2030’s Next Chapter
May 28

A personal message from Edward Mazria
Architecture 2030 has been a leading voice in the American and international architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) community for twenty years. Our nonprofit was established in 2005 to guide the architecture profession and allied disciplines toward meaningful climate action, specifically targeting emissions reductions in the built environment where substantial progress has been achieved in cutting both operational and embodied carbon.
As Architecture 2030 has continued to evolve in response to meet the changing needs of our global community, we are pleased to announce that Vincent Martinez, who has been with the organization since its inception, has stepped into the role of CEO. Vince will also lead our engagement with the global built environment community and at international forums, including the World Economic Forum, Global Alliance for Building and Construction, and annual United Nations Climate Change Conferences (COPs) which gathers representatives from nearly every country on Earth to strategically manage the climate crisis. Supported by a dedicated team of staff and Senior Fellows, Vince has been invaluable in advancing critical built environment priorities on the national and international stage. His new executive and international responsibilities allow me to focus on problem-solving initiatives, research, writing, and special projects.
During the past five years, we have entered a new phase, broadening our scope to embrace and advocate for all disciplines within the AEC community—including architecture, landscape architecture, planning, engineering, and beyond. This expanded approach has yielded visible results at the international, national, and local level, in both the public and private sectors by integrating built environment design and planning, with innovation and climate solutions. Through pioneering new tools, resources, and programming, forging critical new partnerships, and strengthening existing relationships, our organization now connects innovators in the built environment with diverse global audiences. We continually strive to provide scalable, data-driven solutions essential to addressing the climate emergency.
As always, our Architecture 2030 team is grateful for your continued partnerships. Collectively, we understand the urgency; together, we are making a difference.
